Dear Gent,

28 Cornhill,

London, E.C.3.

26th June, 1941.

Hong Kong Dockyards.

To give you a bit of atmosphere I enclose

a recent report on the labour problems at the Taikoo

Dockyard in Hong Kong which has just reached us. This

is our only copy, so please send it back to me.

The Yards are very busy on new construction

for the Admiralty as well as with the repair work on

British tonnage and I have a sort of feeling that this

type of labour difficulty is probably due to Japanese

influences exerted via Canton.

Yours sincerely,

(sgd) J.R. MASSON,

G.E. J. Gent, Esq.,

The Colonial Office,

S.W.1.
